S510 - a bit worried

Hi all, I could do with a bit of advice please. I have a very nice ( unmolested, I believe ) S510 in .22 flavour. I put it over an F1 Chrony yesterday and found it was doing 11.32ft Lbs with RWS Superfields 15.9grains. Pressure was 150bar and it varied between 586 and 600fps. ( Average 593.7 )
I then tried it with JSB Exact Jumbo 5.52 and 15.89 grains. Again, 150 bar, variation was 598 - 605.4 fps with an average of 602fps giving 12.8ft lbs. Oooops!
My question is, should I get a regulator fitted and if so which one? Secondly, as I live in Somerset, is there anyone reasonably local who could fit it? I don't particularly want to post it or drive to the Midlands or further to get it done.
Any advice or opinions welcome. Best wishes,Mark

Try it with Bisley magnums at 21grains. See what that gives. Then worry if it's well over 12ft/lbs. David.

If the antitamper is out, you should be able to fit an Altaros reg, no drilling of cylinder, so an easy fit, they work very well, just put one in a mates S510, 5fps over a 50 shot string. Rog

Whether you regulate it or not, every gun will give higher power outputs with some pellets than with others and there is no way of changing that. The safe thing to do is to try to find the most efficient pellet for your particular gun - in my experience, for Air Arms guns it's usually one of the heavier JSB's - and adjust until that gives something like 11.7 ft-lb at most. Then, I'm afraid you just have to live with whatever that gives you on other pellets.

Not good news, but I hope it helps you stay legal.
