tx200hc low power

Mon Jul 10, 2017 10:50 am

Hi I've owned this rifle from new say 22 year approx and it's low on power today 6.5ftlbs using air arms 16 grain pellet it's a warm day rifle and pellet warm I'm telling you this two weeks ago I stripped and cleaned and was getting 11.6 ft lbs any ideas haven't changed seals for about 20 years.or is it temperature related.

I don't think you'd lose nearly half your power because you were shooting on a hot day. It COULD be your piston seal but you might want to have a look at your spring or your breech seals. Note - there are two of them, one on top of the other.

+1
Stripping and cleaning a 20+ yr old rifle I would have renewed the piston and breech seals and spring. Unless the spring has busted its unlikely the spring has lost that much power in 2 weeks but the seals could have.

+2 think you may have answered your own question. Seals after 22 years are not going to be in great shape.
