Has any body bought and fitted one?
The instructions look like a right old faff, is it so, and is it worth the effort?

I do love to tinker, especially when we get the longer days and Mrs B hogs the TV, poisoning her mind with soaps!

I fitted one into my BTAS S510 .22 it went straight in no problem, this rifle always wasted air due to bounce, they only work in a regd gun as hammer is lighter than standard, rog

You will need a bit of heat to remove the striker guide rod, apart from that I didn't come across any problem, I did strip the whole gun while I was at it, but that was only to play with the firing valve assembly. Rog

Hi Brooksy,
i'm new to this forum so forgive me if I'm chatting out of place, i'm also a bit late to this thread, but anyway, i was looking around the site when i came across your chart about these floating hammers for the S400 range, I'm the bloke who designed this 'floating hammer' and i wondered if you actually bought one off Rob and i wondered if you got it sorted and you were happy with it?

In my .177 S400 Carbine with both a reg and the f/hammer, it took my useful shot count from about 35-40 variable shots to over 105 all bang on the nail 11.7 FP and made a noticeable improvement to the accuracy, the prototype has been in my gun since sometime 2012 when i last serviced my S400, it popped a seal a week ago so i stripped it all right down and unsurprisingly all the seals were pretty much at the end of their useful life, i was happy to see the F/Hammer was as good as the day i first fitted it. My friend Rob Lane has made improvement's by recognising and identifying some small variations of the hammer rail and original hammer size/weight that AA have made over the years, so a good fit is assured for your version of your S400 by using one of his kits.
