s400 carbine with full length cylinder

Fri Nov 18, 2016 12:24 pm

Im wanting to replace my carbine cylinder with a full length to add more shots but want to keep the length down hence not buying a classic model. Im wanting to fit a stripper & wondering what's the best way to go about fitting correctly as i already the barrel band situation etc.

Thanks

This looks like a hassle to me, there is not much room between the barrel and cylinder for a stripper unless you can get one machined down, I would stick a reg in it and get more usable shots. The Altaros is reasonably easy to fit if you can do it yourself ( only a suggestion ) but there might be someone else on here with a better or cheaper suggestion. Rog

I got the stripper and barrel band off eBay for £30 - pure luck, but worth looking out for. Makes for a really well balanced gun and the cylinder protects the flimsy barrel from accidental knocks. No effective way of fitting a moderator though.

Some years ago Blackpool Air Rifles (BAR) offered a conversion of a carbine S410 with a classic air cylinder but the original carbine barrel and an air stripper to finish it off.
The result was a good looking rifle the only disadvantage was there was not enough room to fit a silencer.

GML made a air stripper that attached to carbine barrel as normal but then clamped through the figure eight support and finally screwed together.
With a classic cylinder the stripper had the same length.
They also added another third sear to the trigger making three in total.

Now that is a handsome rifle!! If memory serves me right GML aka "the doctor" stopped making them because he (they) had trouble sourcing the air cylinders.

Thank you bbf and woody.

Hear's a thought, free float the barrel on the carbine 400 and use a hft 500 cylinder, perfection?
