S410 CLASSIC

Sun Nov 06, 2016 9:24 pm

Hi im new to the forum. My problem is im losing air. Its going down very slowly taking two weeks to lose 50 bar. It seems to stay at about 150bar, its an older model with no anti tamper, any idea what seals may be leaking i have tried soapy water and oil to try and trace the escape but cannot see where the air is escaping from. Any help gratefully received Thanjs in advance.

tie a balloon or plastic bag firmly to the muzzle end of the barrel and see if it inflates over a day. Bolt closed.
50 bar in 2 weeks is quite slow but not normal.

Could be firing valve, filler, gauge seal, or gauge mount bolt seals. As TMP says take moderator off and fit balloon over end of barrel, this will tell you if it's the firing valve, seals on gauge and mount bolt I would replace anyway, if you can get another balloon over the filler (not always easy) you will see if it's leaking from there as well. What I do is attach bottle and charge as normal but then leave connected release air from line and close it again, leave it for a while then open release valve again, any air coming out means it's the filler seal, have fun. Thanks for all your help. I will try the baloon and bottle technique. Never stripped a pcp down before springers pumps yes. Steep learning curve ahead.

Did what was said. No air escaping down the barrel. Did the bottle trick air escaping when i opened the valve so must be the filler seal. Any utube videos recomended please.

I changed the seals still leaking air but from the barrel is it the firing valve assembly that requires cleaning or changing what am i looking for as in wear or damage. The pot is very loose as well could thus also be the problem please advise.

Sounds like the firing valve, if the pot is loose it could have backed out which will reduce pressure on firing valve spring, and hammer could be holding firing valve open, does it still leak when it's cocked. Rog
