leaking s400?

Mon Sep 05, 2016 1:48 pm

Purchased an older s400, has previously had regulator fitted, been stood for a while, using on range, no probs, after 2nd refill I ran it down to the point it self vented, upon getting it refilled it's venting air out of the barrel. Chap querying a seal or even the regulator died a death. I guess a seal would degrade over time, dry, crack and with new use heat up, expand and fail
anyone else had this issue?

I thought Julian had offered to help you, but it's all pretty easy and I reckon you could do it yourself, go on give it a go, don't forget Julian for the spares. I reckon a new firing valve would sort it. Rog

Sometimes it requires a blast of air to reset. Some bottles have a slow fill valve attached that hinders setting.

I second the previous text as it was shooting fine until it vented out. You may need to temporarily 'disable' the slow fill ability of the recharge kit. Often this is in the form of a grub screw that you may need to remove. The maker of the fill kit should be able to expand on this. Failing that try someone else's filling kit to see if this will sort it. Then don't shoot it that low again  :)
