S410 .22 pellet preference

Sun Aug 07, 2016 6:39 pm

Evening all.
Very new on here, please be gentle!

In a week or 10 days I will get my hands on my new (to me) S410 classic in .22 flavour. I've only had a .177 HW100 before, which is incredibly pellet fussy. So a few questions...
Is the S410 pellet fussy in .22?
What pellet do you folks use in your .22?

I'm going to be plinking and hunting, with possible HFT use on the odd occasion. Maximum hunting range with the HW is 35 yards as it just doesn't group properly beyond that, I hope that the S410 will allow to push that a bit farther out.

Many thanks, Pete.

AADF 5.52 16gn for my S510 and I zero at 25yds, always worth trying first, JSB is a good alternative as well, but in my S510 it's AADF all the time. Rog

Rightio, ta very much! Will get a few tins on order and see how we go!

Do any of you wash and lube the pellets, tried it with the HW but it didn't seem to do any good. But then with that barrel I might have had more luck forcing a .22 down it than a .177!

I don't bother to wash pellets, but I do lube them, either daystate rangefinder or Napier power both in spray bottles. Rog
