Hammer noise

Hi.i now own a 400and410.both running around 11ftlbs.there are both .177.
Can any body give me some advice on how to reduce the noise of the hammer

A de pinger the noise of the hammer sound louder because it vibrates down the cylinder

I assume the problem is prey being startled rather than personal preferences.

You would be surprised how little hammer noise there is at 10 paces. Most of the noise travels via the stock right onto your ear,thus making it sound louder than it really is.

Hi.thanks for advise,you are dead right on the noise transmitting along the cylinder/stock.i got the other half to shoot
The rifle.with me standing to one side hammer is quiet .thanks to you all for advise.

I get my butler to shoot my rabbits whilst I drink wine in the garden, I can't hear a bleedin thing.
