S400 MPR cylinder gauge

The gauge in the s400 MPR 10 metre Precision is screwed into the front end of the cylinder. Its fully shrouded. Anyone know how to change this part? My brand new MPR has a duff gauge stuck at 150 and if it means the whole rifle going off for 3 weeks on warranty I would rather fit my own. Problem is how to get a purchase on it. Maybe there is a tubular spanner for it? Its the same part no as the standard S400 gauge.

Ps my FWB pistol gauge was unscrewed from the inside with a hex socket in the neck of the gauge using a long hex key.

Another gauge problem! Mine is stuck on 190 but it is 10 yrs old so I suppose it is to be expected and at least it doesn't leak anymore.
The gauge on the s400 series is removed with a 22mm socket as shown on the Air Arms youtube video. That doesn't help you I know but perhaps an old fashioned box spanner might slip between the shroud and the gauge.

If it's new I would send it back because you will void the guarantee if you work on it yourself.

Thanks for that.
I dont mind them swapping out the cylinder but I spent 2 weeks fitting it to my anatomy in the standing position and setting the trigger to 10m "breaking glass rod" feel so no way is the rifle going anywhere!

PS found the video https://youtu.be/8SXJ7TiP4NA
Specifically for the MPR . Six sided tube spanner will do it I'm positive. Looked with a torch after removing the big cosmetic o ring.

Thanks again.

Great, it is more satisfying doing yourself and you know it's done properly :D

Got a 22mm box spanner from ebay and filed the corners so its 26.7 mm outside dia. Corners are now paper thin! Hopefully will not split when I try to undo the gauge. Their socket is more than just a straight 6 sided one, the corners have been strengthened internally. I suspect its a £100 special tool.

Got my replacement gauge FOC from Air Arms (thank you SC) and plan to do the swap after a couple more details at the club to lose some more air. We'll see how tightly torqued that tiny little thing is. Fortunately they provide an open ended spanner which actually fits the cylinder since I filed the spanner to fit.

Moving from Feinwerkbau match pistol to Air Arms it seems so refreshingly British to oil and grease everything in sight where FWB say Do Not Lubricate this weapon - ever!
