Q-TEC Help!

Wed Jul 20, 2016 7:20 am

Hi all!

Can anyone help me? Something has gone wrong with my mod and I'm getting pellets clipping the baffles. How do i strip the mod so I can see what's wrong!

Thanks

Chase

I would think the front end cap unscrews but you will need too warm it with a hair dryer too get it too move.
But wait for other replys as ive had no experience with the q tec mod.

Had same problem with the one I bought, it went back to AirArms and they sent a new one back to my local gun shop. Interested to know what you are fitting it to. rog

Sorry should have realised s510, if that's a standard s510 and not an ultimate, undo the shroud slightly and refit the mod, problem is the shrouds are not always in alignment with the barrel when tightened right up, and yes I know they should be, sometimes they are not even straight, I hate shrouds, they can be an absolute PITA. Thanks I'll have a look at that later, do you know how to split the silencer? I saw a post on another forum and some one said to clean it out and that may sort the issue.

I can't find any information online regarding taking the mod apart!

You need to heat the ends up then find something to grip the end, I use rubber gloves or a Baby Boa, these are great for getting ends off scopes aswell. But I bet it's the bloody shroud, as I say I hate them. Rog

Great that's my job for tonight.

When you say the shroud would it be the baffles or the ally support?

Thanks

It's the tube itself, I have a brand new one here fitted once to a 510, if you rolled it down a flat surface it looks like a ride at Alton towers. Rog

Right I got the end cap off finally last night. Thanks for the advice Rog

I would say all of the internal baffles are damaged. Can you get replacement parts for the silencer?

I don't fancy forking out for a new one!
