Air Arms S410 Classic mystery

Fri Jul 01, 2016 11:45 am

Hi everyone just joined so i would like to thank your site for letting me become a member, here's the mystery I was shooting the rifle a while ago and it was shooting spot on and working fine when suddenly it stopped cycling the mags, well I potched about with it for a couple of days but in the end I thought I'm going to need a new mag retaining spring and indexing post so I sent for them and I fitted them and guess what yes that's right it still did'nt work so now after trying everything I could think of i'm at a loss to what it could be, and by the way Iv'e got four mags two of which are nearly new and none of them cycle, anyway I dont know if any of the members have had this problem but i'm waiting in anticipation many thanks Mal94.

Hi,

take the side plate off again and remove the S560 'cam plate'. This is the part that looks slightly like a dogs bone. Check that it still has the pin at the back end that reaches through and connects with the bolt assembly. It sounds like this pin may have become damaged.

OK. With the mag out does the indexing post move up and down when the bolt is cycled and does the pellet probe enter the barrel?

Hi Mark112 yes everything works as it supposed to in the sense everything is mechanically as it should be, there's nothing broken or out of line/sync quite a mystery might get to the bottom of it one day but for now it's working with the adjustments to the mags many thanks for all your replies grateful for your time many regards Mal94.
