S410 tdr altaros regulator

Fri Jun 17, 2016 10:44 am

So I'm back into air rifles after a good few years out, I have bagged myself a s410 tdr. 22 when I first entered the world of pcp it was only really tench that installed regs but after research I have come across altaros regulator seem simple enough to install no drilling required, my question is does any one have reviews of set regulator and what output pressure to set reg to it says from 100 to 150 it this the amount of pressure the cylinder can hold so instead of 190 I could only fill to 150 max.

I bought one and it was pre set for .177, I haven't adjusted it and it's very consistent at 11.3. I think it's a good quality item at the price and his service is excellent. I couldn't advise on your fill pressure but if you can't get above 150 you can always adjust the venturi screw. To be honest, the reg will still to the trick from 150 down to about 80 bar.

100 to 150 is reg pressure, you can still fill to 190bar, I fill my btas .22 to 210bar. Rog

Sorry, I understand your question now. You can set the actual regulator to between 100 and 150 bar, this is the pressure it supplies to the firing valve. Lower pressure for .22, higher for .177 as the smaller pellet has less surface area, hence .177's have a lower shot count than .22's.
The bottle pressure doesn't matter as the reg is there to reduce and regulate it to its set pressure.

I have a Rapid Mk2 in .20 and the reg is set at 1350 psi to stay sub 12. A .177 has to be set at 1450 psi. A .22 will need 1250 psi. A higher reg pressure combined with a longer firing valve opening time will give higher power and you can adjust the reg to bring it back down. Air Arms firing valves are more precise in that you can't really mess with the time/amount the valve opens so power is more reliant on supply pressure.
