S410 problems?

Wed Jun 15, 2016 7:50 am

Gun just over 1 year old from new.....infrequent use - half a tin of pellets.....shoots well but...
1).....a bit notchy when loading - not a smooth movement...Does it need a "run in" period? Contacted Air Arms and they offered to take it back to inspect it but is there is anything I can do to solve the current problems?
2).....not loading a pellet from magazine lately resulting in a missed shot this morning at the rabbit attacking flowers in the front border! Removed magazine and refitted it to get it to move on..
Any suggestions or advice would be much appreciated.
Thanks

It might help if you updated your profile with your location as someone local then would be able to help.

Could be a spot of corrosion on the hammer rail, mine was exactly the same. A strip and Autosol sorted it out.

Thanks for the suggestion Brooksy. Will try to get a look at it soon, although it is surprising that it should be affected like this as it is a dry weather gun and is stored in a very dry place but anything is possible.
Cheers

Hi,

Is it smooth to cock without the magazine in? If it's fine with the mag out then it could well be the indexing post at fault. They can get bent out of shape and fail to index correctly. Sometimes they can be bent back into shape but to be honest I'd just fit a new one like this one Image .
It's a 5 minute job and a single Allen key required. Hammer rail fix as mentioned in earlier post will probably require the removal of anti-tamper measures.
