TX200 HC accuracey fault with silencer fitted

Fri Apr 29, 2016 6:48 pm

Recently purchased a TX 200 HC, shoots 5" to 6" low right with AA silencer fitted. Gun shoots excellent groups with silencer removed. Tried another silencer no difference. Tried different make of silencer no difference. Fitted 1/2" unf adapter and 'muzzle break' shoots excellent groups. Any ideas appreciated.

Spring guns can be quite fussy regarding adding any kind of weight to them, my HW80 is heavy enough to not be troubled by adding extras to it but, I have an HW95 a much lighter rifle which if I put a torch on it shoots 2inches left and 2inches low, I just rezero when I use it with a torch. Rog

I had precisely the same issue, it was due to the threaded section of the muzzle being misaligned and not true with the barrel, not uncommon but, nevertheless annoying if you had desired to utilise a silencer.

I had the same issue with a Q-Tec Silencer which is calibre-specific and pissed me off so much, I sold on the Q-Tech.
After a LOT of experimentation I worked out that (for me), the Plenum worked much better when cut down as this increased the air volume in the chamber behind it. I also found out that this reduced the level of noise heard @3m to each side by 6 decibels. (This has been previously put down to "Mechanical Noise", but in fact I believe it is the barrel resonating). Cutting the Plenum down also shaved off 10 decibels @ 20m down the range.
