Hi guys merry Christmas to everyone and hope you have a happy new year i have a question for anyone what might be able to help me i bought a new hammer spring for my s200 has my other one shattered i have put it in and got the rifle working fine but when i goto crono it, it is only reading between 300 ft lb to 490 ft lb on a 12 shot string i put the hammer spring nut back in the same position it was in and left the transfer port screw the same has it was, so i cannot understand why i am not getting the same 12ft lbs reading on the crono. I have even bought the strip down and tune, repair dvd but it doesn't tell you how to get the correct setting to 12ft lbs. I have tried adjusting the hammer spring nut tighter but when you go to far the bolt will not cock so i have gone to how far it will go plus i have even tried to adjust the transfer port leaving the nut in place so i new where to go back too and still hardly no difference. So if any of you guys can shed some light on this i would very grateful, has i want to get it back to its original power at 12ft lbs i would take it back to the gun store but it costs me a minimum of £30 to £40 pound each time and i cannot afford to keep paying that. That is why i bought the dvd so i could do the work myself to save money, Plus it gives you satisfaction knowing you have done the work yourself. So i hope someone on site can advise me to what i am doing wrong or missing what the strip and tune video isn't telling me. Thankyou in advance to anyone what can offer a solution. :?:

first question should be, where did you get the spring from, is it a genuine AA spring as there are some dodgy ones on e-bay

Very well said. The numbers you have quoted point to a 6 ft.lb target rifle spring.

Took a couple of phone calls and PMs but we got there in the end. For those wondering what the matter was and how it was fixed ...

Barrel was re-assembled not all the way home in the action. This led to a partially obscured transfer port - hole in the barrel not aligned with the port. In an S200 this can also happen if the barrel is assembled all the way home but twisted.

Moral of the story - If you remove the barrel, put it back so that the air flow is not obstructed. :)

Ha ha, well done raj, a frien of nine did something very similar , only he had put the barrel in upside down, so it was easier to find the problem.
