Cheers Geordie,
Gotta admit, when they opened the box at the RFD to show me my rifle , happy was an understatement :-) I'm a sucker for a nicely figured piece of walnut.
True graded walnut is all but gone these days. Someone, somewhere will be enjoying my custom grade 1 walnut stock which was inletted for a Ripley AR5s (sold about 15 years ago). I'd travelled the length and breadth of England searching for the right blank. More the pity, I've only got memories as I dont have any photos of it. :-(
Thankfully, people like your good self now produce stunning looking stocks which make up for the ever reducing quality of the walnut available.

One does ones best :) ;)

Agree totally regarding the dearth of decent timber available at a reasonable price. It takes me all my time just to get hold of usable blanks. :(

Its funny how the wood makes the rifle, and that is one nice piece of wood.... Very nice indeed.
