Had a few enjoyable hours today watching our smallest planet cross the solar disc. These aren't the greatest pics but in my excitement I managed to mislay the adapter for my slr so these are just free hand shots through my telescope eye piece using my phone
Sorry but you have to scroll the photo down a bit to see the planet, it's at about half threeish and to the right of the larger sunspot nearer the centre of the sun. Apologies again for being incapable of managing to show the whole of the shot in the frame

Thanks chaps, it's a shame I couldn't have captured a slightly better quality image with the slr but at least something is better than nothing I'm just glad the skies stayed clear yesterday (today's washout would be my normal luck with these things!). The next ones due in 2019 and you never know by then I might have worked out how to post a full size image rather than just a bit of black sky to scroll through
