Rabbits - new permission
Some friends in the village had been saying for a while how the field they have as part of their property is over run with rabbits. Oh ay thinks I, heard that one before, probably at least 3....... So we were over there on Sunday for a BBQ in the evening and, hand up, I was wrong. Place was heaving ...

Re: S410 sticky charging valve
Thanks guys, looks like a phone call to Julian is in order to get a replacement and keep the current one as a spare.
Glad the rifle decided to sort itself out, meant the trip last night to do a favour ended with S410 (1) - Rats (0)

S410 sticky charging valve
Well I got the S410 out yesterday to charge up prior to some ratting tonight. Upon disconnecting the air line there was a faint but distinct, and depressing, hissing sound of air leaking from somewhere I quickly discovered that it was actually just venting back out through the end of the valve on th...

Re: made a start
Ain't it always the way that just the biggest one is the one that is not recorded!
And I can sympathise with them moving just as you take the shot - had that last time myself.

Re: back to the farm for rats
Geordie, I'm using a Pulsar N550 on top of an AA S410 in .177 Actually bought the rifle second hand from this site (well the old one) and it has taken a lot of vermin since, plus done me proud on HFT courses. It is now my permanent NV rig though. The N550 was bought a few years ago and though I have...

back to the farm for rats
well it took a bit longer than I hoped but I got out last night again for some scaly tail bashing. Was worried when I first got there as the estate had obviously run a tractor round and levelled the whole area, removing all the lovely mulch that the rats had been tunnelling through. There was still ...

Always pleasing to get a few scaly tails. Good work!

Re: More rats..
One of those occasions when the estate manager said the place was over run and I thought, oh yeah heard that before but nope, he was right it is rat central. Might be something to do with being round the back of the grain store... Slightly unnerving sitting there in the dark looking in one direction...

More rats..
Had another successful night at the farm. boot farm rats (small).jpg Went up last week and got a similar 4 in about 40 minutes. This time took more like twice that time to get these three plus another which fell down a hole and I was not going to go fishing around to retrieve it! Much more twitchy t...
