Re: ADVICE please.

Irrespective of calibre, what's wrong with a tuned S410? Does not need a regulator and has a lower shot-by-shot fps variability of just about any regged gun. I've had my S410 Carbine recently tuned and it gives 3fps shot by shot in the sweet spot and a total of 8fps difference over 65 - 70 shots (al...

Re: squirrel habbits

Hi Chaps One of the best ways to establish squizzer behaviour, is to use trailcams. Set them up on feeders and download the memory cards every couple of days. I find they have a pattern - but this will be different in different places. I shoot woods where the squirrels are out morning and evening, a...

Re: 1.77 versus .22 Question..

the extra velocity of .177 causes a greater ''temporary wound cavity'' than the .22, so the damage done by both calibres is the same. Sorry, but this is simply incorrect. The .22 makes a much larger lateral wound channel. I dont believe in calibre debates, but i do believe in the information people...

Re: 1.77 versus .22 Question..

Forget about hunting for a moment here. To be honest my friend, I'd rather not as hunt is all I do. This is the crux of the issue. As I have said previously, out to 35-40yds there is no difference in accuracy between .177 and .22 - sub 5p groupings for both no problem for a modern PCP. These distan...

Re: 1.77 versus .22 Question..

The .22 is also travels more than fast enough to hit before the animal sees it - thats a myth at least out to 40yds. Some of the shots taken with a .22 at last year's Air Arms Meet are yet to land and may score points at this year's Meet ..... Haha.....get the .22s tuned then. Some of the ,177s I s...

Re: 1.77 versus .22 Question..

I would go further and say there is no difference between the calibres out to 40yds (not that I've seen). Calibre arguments are always contentious, just shoot what works for you and enjoy it. However, those making the 'too loopy' argument against .22 are mistaken. I've been shooting .22 for hunting ...
