Re: S410 Classic loss of power
After 14 years I'd be very surprised if all your seals are still doing their job properly. Personally I wouldn't spend any time fault finding I would simply strip the whole thing, replace all the seals and clean everything, especially the hammer rail. While I was in there I would check the firing va...

Re: HFT500 fitting regulator
I fitted a Lane regulator to my HFT500, including opening the transfer port to 3.5 mm and fitting a heavier firing valve spring. It meant I was able to get 140+ shots using the shorter, 'Classic' cylinder, which made the gun much better balanced for me, as well lighter overall. I would probably have...

Re: Hft500 fps
I get the best grouping (and total peace of mind legally speaking) with Exacts around 11.2 - 11.3 ft.lb ie the low to mid 770's fps. My groups certainly open up above about 780 fps. This seems to apply to all my AA guns, and to my Steyr. With a bit of luck, given the ME with Heavies, that will be pr...

Re: After a new barrel
A bent barrel will affect where the group lands, but shouldn't affect the size of the group itself, unless the barrel is so bent it is virtually kinked. The most likely problem is clipping the moderator, but if not, like several others have said, it's back to AA or a trusted fettler as something int...

Re: Altaros reg
Have a look at this: viewtopic.php?f=5&t=4545
The Altaros is still running well. I've fitted a couple of Lanes since then, and think the Altaros is every bit as good, and much less hassle to fit.

Re: BKL mount size?
Hi Richard. Unless you need to get clearance for something like a magazine or after-market loader, the BKL 'low' mount should be fine for a 50mm scope on an S400. The 30mm BKL 'low' mounts are 2mm higher than the 30mm Sportsmatch 'medium', so you might be able to find a Sportsmatch to check. Alan

MPR FT stock fitting
Does anyone know if the MPR FT action will fit in a standard S400/500 series stock? I have an itch to try the MPR, but after a very short try out of a hugely over-priced one in a shop, I don't think I'm going to get on with the stock, so the option of dropping the action into my favourite CS 800 sto...

Re: S510 carbine with Lane reg adjustment
Good point. That would do it, and it's one of the few things I can think of that haven't been checked.air vermin wrote: ↑Thu Oct 03, 2019 6:49 pmHave you checked that the transfer port is 3.5mm through all 3 sections?

Have you tried speaking to Robert Lane himself? He is very approachable - just don't phone him when you're in a hurry
