Re: Hill's Pump

That is logical Timmytree, keep pumping until the pressure in the line exceeds the pressure in the rifle cylinder. Yes I'll go by the pump gauge, that is what people keep telling me. Better have a big steak pudding before I start, just to build my strength up.

Re: Hill's Pump

Thanks for your reply wastrel, I do know if the 410 is empty you must cock the rifle before filling, that much I gleaned from the manual. Mine came with a pressure of 150bar and I fire about 15 shots before I tried to do a top up. It is now about 100bar so I would not have thought it needs to be coc...

Re: Hill's Pump

I must thank kevingamble first for of all for his reply. Yes the pressure relief valve is tight, it would require the use of pliers to get it any tighter. I did try coking the rifle last time I tried to charge it. I won't hear the air escaping I'm almost deaf. The Pump gauge gives a lower reading th...

Re: Hunting forum open to public?

I take a more robust position on the "Rabbit People" they can all get lost or something less pleasant if you prefer, their feeling is not worth worrying about. What I do say if we think our shooting of pests is not a moral thing to do then yes we must hide it, if not why bother. I can unde...

Re: Hill's Pump

Given no replies, I presume nobody uses hand pumps on here, do you all use divers bottles for your refills?

Hill's Pump

I bought a S410 carbine in .177 last week and a Hills pump to top up the charge. This is the first pre-charged air rifle I've owned, always had springers before. I found it a bit tricky get the pump attached though not impossible but after 60 pumps there was no pressure increase on the rifle dial. D...

Re: sky news kicking off over young shot gunners

What a stupid thing to say, of course it is fun to shoot that is why adults do it. Shooting sports are our hobby, whether it is competitive target shooting or game shooting in all it's forms IT IS FUN you silly woman.

Re: sky news kicking off over young shot gunners

Usual media cr*p, the Gun Control Network was found out a few years ago they had a membership of less than 10, mainly from one MP's family. They were on the Firearms Advisory Committee but got throw out when the Home Office realised. Perhaps someone else remembers better than me as it was a few year...

Re: this is how a forum should be

It takes strong moderators to keep a forum on the right path, ones that can keep the unpleasant people under control or tell them they are not wanted here. I've been a member of this forum for less than a week though I was aware of the old AAOC forum and looked in occasionally. After I got my S410 c...
